Biovision® – Biofouling Monitoring
Best monitoring technique
Only H2O Biofouling Solutions B.V. offers you the best technique to MONITOR in real time the effectiveness of your biofouling treatment. If your current treatment is not effective, it will immediately reveal the presence of biofouling organisms.
H2O has developed a monitoring solution known as the Biovision Monitor, designed to be installed at a critical location within the service water system, such as in front of the heat exchangers.

Working principle
The monitor contains five fouling coupons and can be connected in a bypass configuration to the water system. The monitor is designed to create a range of water flow and turbulence along the fouling coupons, imitating the typical flow range and turbulence found in water systems.
The fouling coupons housed within the monitor can be constructed from the same materials as those used in the plant’s water system. This ensures that the monitor offers a true-to-life, real-time depiction of conditions within the larger water system.
Equipped with the Biovision Monitor, operators benefit from an early warning system that alerts to potential biofouling settlement risks. It enables the detection of new invasive species and minimizes the risk of operation shutdown.
Biovision features & benefits:
Designed to mimic real conditions of the intake and (cooling) water system, including construction materials and flow velocities.
- Detects broad range of species, such as mussels, oysters, barnacles, and hydroids.
- Dimensions: 73 x 40 x 40 cm – Weight: 18 kg.
- No power supply required.
For all applications, we recommend a monitoring system to continuously assess the effectiveness of your biofouling control regime.
